Years ago, the cat disappeared without a trace.
Her owner is sad and thinks she has been killed.
But then comes a surprising call.
When animals run away from their owners, the shock is great.
After all, it is very difficult for the owners to deal with it, especially when the cat, dog and co. disappear without a trace.
Many then ask themselves: Is he/she okay?
Will I ever see my fur nose again?
Susan Moore had already given up on the latter.
Her cat "Harriet" left her life nine years ago, she was looking for her for a long time.
In vain.

Susan and her husband Brian live on a ranch in California, and she is said to have scoured their huge property in desperation.
But in vain: Harriet cannot be found.
Eventually, the couple believe the kitty must have been killed by a roaming coyote.
Susan Moore is heartbroken because she loved her cat dearly, but comes to terms with the fact that Harriet, who she adopted from a shelter as a kitten, is no longer alive.
But then something surprising happened: out of the blue, the 57-year-old received a call nine years later.
An employee of an animal shelter in the US state of Idaho is on the line and explains that Harriet is with them.
At first, the Californian can't believe it, after all, the place she's being called from is about a 17-hour drive and more than 1,000 miles from her home.
"I was completely shocked," Moore admits to

.
But the employee insists that they microchip Harriet and that it is indeed her cat.

Apparently, the kitty was picked up when she was wandering around in a small town, and an observer then brought her to the animal shelter.
"I wish she could talk because I really want to know how the hell this cat got to Idaho," Moore continues.
However, she has a suspicion: Harriet probably ran away, someone picked her up in California, kept her and later moved to Idaho.
From there she moved on again.
"Someone either took care of her or she knew exactly where to go to eat," says shelter manager Vicky Nelson.
After all, she looked healthy when she was picked up.
It was lucky that Harriet had a microchip and also shows how important this technology is for pet owners.
