On the TikTok video platform, a user warns of the cucumbers from the discounter Lidl.
Some jars might have some "extra protein" in them.
Stuttgart - Many a customer has already made unpleasant discoveries after buying a product in the supermarket or at the discounter.
For example, a Kaufland customer made an unappetizing discovery in his food: something curled up between the peas in a can that didn't belong there.
Anyone who thinks it can't get any worse is wrong - and hugely so.
A video of a man spotting a snake's head in his airplane food went viral on the internet this year.
A video on the social media platform TikTok also shows that it is definitely worth taking a close look at your food.
Lidl customer finds "extra proteins" in her pickle jar
A customer of the discounter Lidl shared another disgusting find there.
"Guys, whatever you do: check your Lidl cucumbers," says the woman in the clip, showing a sliced gherkin.
The close-up also makes it clear why the customer is warning her followers.
"There might be a little surprise inside," she continues, while filming numerous small maggots that are inside the cucumber.
The "extra proteins", as the video is jokingly subtitled, make you lose your appetite for the Lidl own-brand cucumbers.
After this discovery, the customer decides: "Never again Lidl".
In other TikTok clips, users are also looking for surprises in their Lidl cucumbers.
A user can actually confirm the finding of maggots in the cucumber jar.
"Lidl, kindly take care of it," says the woman in the video.
"I will never eat cucumbers again": Netz is disgusted after finding maggots
The maggot find in the Lidl cucumber jar shocked many other users on social networks.
"It's so disgusting" or "I'm shocked," says the comment.
It actually seems to be more common, because others also report the "extra proteins" in the cucumber jar.
"Seriously, I've had that too," writes one user.
"I had it too, but I had already eaten half and was still wondering why they weren't that crunchy," reports another user.
Other users argue that this can happen and is not tragic.
Not every glass is affected, writes a user.
One or the other will probably enjoy cucumbers from the jar with caution after this video in the future.
"I will never eat whole cucumbers again," wrote a TikTok user jokingly.
