The war continues to cause victims and displaced people in Ukraine and the flow of refugees arriving in Italy does not stop.
The latest figures at the end of September indicate that
171,546 have crossed our borders: 91,288 adult women
, 31,086 adult men and 49,172 minors.
And to strengthen the offer of social services by the Municipalities hosting a "significant" number of Ukrainian asylum seekers compared to the resident population, an order by the head of the Civil Protection Department Fabrizio Curcio published today in the Official Gazette, has allocated additional 40 million euro of one-off contribution.
Among the people arriving in Italy,
158,850 have applied for and obtained a residence permit for temporary protection
(114,026 females and 44,824 males, while there are 60,668 minors).
Lombardy is the region in which the highest number of applications was presented (28,024), followed by Emilia Romagna (18,596), Campania (16,673), Lazio (14,231) and Veneto (13,282).
Among the leading cities is Rome (9,890), which precedes Naples (8,516), Milan (6,967), Brescia (4,804), Caserta (3,517) and Turin (3,489).
Applicants for protection can obtain a
contribution of 300 euros per month
for a maximum of three months.
So far, according to data from the Civil Protection, they have been assigned to 115,473 people: in Lombardy (20,760), Emilia Romagna (14,186) and Campania (13,884) the most numerous.
As regards the widespread reception achieved by the Third sector, agreements have been activated with ten entities (including Caritas and Arci) which have made 5,493 places available.
The latest news on the reception front is the contribution of 40 million euros
.
Municipalities with up to 5,000 inhabitants will be able to benefit from it - the application deadline expires in 45 days - if they have a number of applicants greater than or equal to 3 units;
for those from 5,000 to 30,000 inhabitants the number must be greater than or equal to 5;
for those between 30,000 and 100,000 inhabitants, greater than or equal to 8;
for municipalities with more than 100,000 inhabitants, the applicant Ukrainians will have to be from 15 upwards.
The Curcio ordinance also expands the staff of the Regions who will be able to take advantage of overtime, "beyond the limits set by the respective regulations", in consideration of the "increase in administrative, operational and managerial burdens connected" to the reception.
