(ANSA) - LONDON, OCTOBER 10 - The British government of Liz Truss has announced a new round of sanctions against Iran, imposed primarily against the entire body of the police of morality, following the harsh repression of protests triggered in the Islamic Republic by the case by Mahsa Amini, the 22-year-old who died in detention after being arrested for an alleged infringement of the strict dress code imposed in the Country especially against women.
The punitive measures, in addition to those responsible and agents of the police institution that was the protagonist of Mahsa's arrest, also concern various top figures in Iranian national security, as the Foreign Office, the United Kingdom's foreign ministry, has announced.
All those affected are subject to the prohibition of any hypothetical travel on the island and the freezing of any goods traceable by the British authorities.
