From 8 to 9.30 he is the driver of the town's school bus and takes 60 children to the nursery school.
From 9.30 onwards instead, returning to the Municipality, he becomes the mayor of Montallegro, a town in the Agrigento area.
Giovanni Cirillo, 45, in office since October 2021, will remedy the absence of the employee who carried out the service for the whole school year.
He does it by smiling and taking care of the children - aged 3 to 5 - who have to go to kindergarten.
In Montallegro, a small town of 2,500 souls, there are no fixed stops.
The vehicle passes by the houses, the horn sounds and the passengers hurry down from home and get on.

The Montallegro school bus is brand new and, for the two years of the Covid pandemic, it has stood still.
The driver of the Municipality will soon retire and, in the meantime, his driving license has not been renewed ".
"I have a license - explained the mayor - and therefore I made myself available to my community. I would have done it even before really".
Cirillo, the father of an 11-year-old girl, is thrilled to be able to take care of his fellow citizens in this way as well.
"Before being mayor I was a municipal councilor and even then - he says - I had asked the previous mayors to be able to do this service when the driver was on vacation or sick. Nobody gave me this possibility. Now I have decided to I do it myself. And so it will be for the whole school year. I enjoy the rest, I like it. It's nice because study, culture and socializing are the basis of everything. And I'm happy to help the little ones, and their mothers " .
What if institutional commitments were to take over at the same time?
"This commitment as a driver is subordinate to that of mayor - explained Giovanni Cirillo - It may happen one day, every now and then, that I have to leave Montallegro during the bus service timetable. I will notify the mothers and, on those occasions, they will bring the little ones at school ".
Cirillo got his bus license during his military service and has always renewed it ever since.
"At the moment the municipal accounts do not allow us to hire another driver, but as soon as the current one, whose license has not been renewed, retires, we will do so", he assures us.
