Tuesday afternoon, unless the situation turns around, the National Assembly should approve – at first reading – the bill “on emergency measures relating to the functioning of the labor market with a view to full employment”.
Much decried by the left but supported by part of the right, the text defended by the majority aims to renew the current parameters of the unemployment insurance scheme, while paving the way for their modulation according to the economic situation.
The idea is to better protect job seekers by being more
"generous"
when unemployment is high and, conversely, to tighten the conditions for returning to work when too many positions are unfilled.
Achieve an unemployment rate of 5%
To justify this major development, the government assures it: playing on the duration of compensation will have positive repercussions on the return to work of the approximately 2.3 million unemployed people in the country.
