Vincent Kliesch provides goosebump moments with his thrillers.

Will he manage to lure the thriller fan out from behind the stove with "In the Eye of the Zebra"?

My book tip.

This changes nothing for you.

Losing the loved one you have tears the rug out from under everyone involved.

Several teenagers are kidnapped across Germany at the same time.

How is that possible?

Their parents are brutally murdered.

Commissioner Olivia Holzmann is puzzled.

At first it looked like it would be an easy case.

But she cannot avoid contacting her mentor, Severin Boesherz, which she actually never wanted to do again.

How can one person be in several places at the same time? In the series opener »Im Auge des Zebras« by bestselling author Vincent Kliesch, inspector Olivia Holzmann has to solve a case that cannot exist at all. What is physically impossible is happening all over Germany: Everywhere teenagers are kidnapped, their parents murdered shortly afterwards.

And by all evidence, the crimes were committed at the same time and by the same person!

Inspector Olivia Holzmann from the LKA Berlin is groping in the dark and only knows that the young people are running out of time.

Solving this seemingly supernatural case will require the skills of three special investigators: the willpower of Olivia Holzmann, the ingenious observational skills of her mentor, Severin Boesherz, and the experience of retired detective Esther Wardy.

The three do not suspect

how easy it is for the perpetrator to take away what you love at any time... A brilliant psychopath, an impossible case and unpredictable twists: the German thriller author Vincent Kliesch, who e.g.

with the "Auris" series together with Sebastian Fitzek repeatedly storms the bestseller list, will give his readers many sleepless nights with the new investigator Olivia Holzmann!

Droemer-Knaur

The similarities with works by Sebastian Fitzek are no coincidence.

After all, Fitzek supported Vincent Kliesch with ideas for the Auris series.

The bestselling author is also mentioned in the acknowledgments in “In the Eye of the Zebra”.

But that doesn't have to be a negative thing.

But on the contrary.

For fans, the name represents excitement.

And Vincent Kliesch doesn't need to hide his light under a bushel either.

Order of evil heart thrillers

  • Volume 1: To the death

  • Volume 2: At the Moment of Death

  • Volume 3: In the eye of the zebra

He skilfully interweaves exciting entertainment with good twists.

You may see some coming from a distance, but some caught me off guard.

The subject of a pedophile ring is not for the faint of heart.

At least the author manages to leave the cruel actions behind short hints.

The short chapters line up like quick film cuts.

Putting the book aside was unthinkable.

Vincent Kliesch "In the eye of the zebra": My conclusion

A quick page turner for fans of fast-paced thriller plots that make you think of a film adaptation.

The figure around Commissioner Olivia Holzmann sounds interesting.

Here I am looking forward to a sequel, as she can slowly but surely step out of the limelight of Severin Boesherz.
