It was through a press release, sent to the press, that the Palace (finally) announced the news, this Tuesday, October 11.
As tradition dictates, the coronation of Charles III will take place at Westminster Abbey, London, and will be led by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
But a wind of modernity is already blowing over the British monarchy.
"The coronation will reflect the role of the monarch today and look to the future, while being rooted in long-standing tradition and pageantry," Buckingham Palace warned in its letter.
Between tradition and modernity
70 years will separate the coronation of Elizabeth II and that of her son Charles III.
Nevertheless, the course of the ceremony will probably be very similar.
Before the altar, the king will take the coronation oath, promising to pass judgments according to law and justice and to protect the Church of England.
