Fuel: since 1968, major shortages in France

THE FIGARO ARCHIVES - In just over 50 years, France has experienced several supply disruptions caused by strikes.


The government may bang its fist on the table, the blocking of refineries continues, Tuesday, October 11.

And motorists have not finished queuing in front of service stations that are still open.

Monday evening, 30% of service stations encountered supply difficulties at the national level, 54.8% in Hauts-de-France and 44.9% in the Paris region.

The situation is not unprecedented.

Since the great strikes of 1968, the French have repeatedly hunted for fuel while refineries and oil depots were blocked.
