House of the Dragon: What does the trailer for the ninth episode reveal?

Next Sunday, HBO will air The Green Council, the ninth and penultimate episode of the ten-part season premiere of House of the Dragon.

As the finale approaches, events at King's Landing escalate.

"The King is dead," confirms Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) in the first trailer for House of the Dragon's ninth episode, "The Green Council," which premieres Sunday, October 16th at Premium cable channel HBO goes on the air (and is imported in this country at the same time by Sky aka WOW).

In the pre-finals of the ten-part season opener of the Game of Thrones prequel, King's Landing and thus all of Westeros are in for a major upheaval.

A war for power will break out between the Greens led by Queen Alicent (Olivia Cooke) and the Blacks led by the heir-designate Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy).

After it looked like the two women could put their differences aside for the sake of the late Viserys (Paddy Considine), the misunderstanding surrounding the prophecy of the "Prince That Was Promised" changed everything.
