You don't necessarily need a coin or chip to open a shopping cart.

If you often travel without cash, you can find out here how it works.

Kassel – You can now pay by card almost everywhere.

This can mean that sometimes you don't have any cash with you.

However, there are also situations in which this is exactly disadvantageous

One of these situations is shopping in the supermarket.

If there are no coins in the purse, no shopping cart can be opened.

Or does it?

With a little trick, you can do it without a coin or chip.

A shopping trolley is not always the same, the coin can be inserted in different ways

Many people like to use a shopping trolley when shopping at Aldi, Lidl, Rewe and Co.

This is particularly beneficial if you are going to make a bulk purchase.

In Germany there are mainly two types of shopping trolleys - both can be opened with coins or coin chips.

However, the coins are inserted into the carriage in different ways.

Many shopping trolleys are provided with a coin slot into which the coin only has to be pushed.

If it is in the car, the chain of the car is released and this can be pulled out.

These can be solved with a simple trick without a coin or chip.

All you need is a key with a round handle.

This round handle replaces the coin.

You hold the key by the grooves and simply slide it into the coin slot.

After use, the key can simply be pulled out of the car.

Aldi, Lidl, Rewe & Co.: This is how a shopping trolley can be opened without a coin or chip

The second shopping trolley model has a sliding compartment instead of a slot.

A coin is inserted there and the carriage is released when the compartment is closed.

This model is a little more difficult to solve without a coin or chip.

If it's a trolley with a coin compartment, you'll need some skill - and a bobby pin.

In order to be able to open the trolley, a certain point in the coin compartment must be pressed.

According to

chip.de

, this point is in the upper corner of the flap and can be reached with a hairpin.

Now you have to try to hit the right spot.

As an alternative to the hairpin, you can also use some wire, the trick then works in the same way.
