The Berlin Traffic Information Center (VIZ) called on drivers on Thursday morning to drive with particular care.
The reason: Around 250 traffic lights in the city did not go into operation after the night shutdown.
According to VIZ, traffic lights were affected throughout the city.
After about three hours, the traffic lights were back in operation, it said.
According to a spokesman, the reason for the failure was a system problem, as reported by the dpa news agency.
