The legendary British formation Queen revealed, this Thursday on the airwaves of the BBC, an unpublished and deeply moving song by the late Freddie Mercury recorded in 1988, three years before his death.
"
And in the end, you have to face it alone
"
are
the
sad premonitory lyrics of the track titled
Face
It Alone,
composed during the recording sessions of the album
The Miracle
in London and Switzerland on which she was to appear.
"
We found a little gem of Freddie, which we had kind of forgotten
," said drummer Roger Taylor last June, still on the BBC.

Subtracting this song from oblivion is indeed a miracle.
Originally, Queen guitarist Brian May thought the recording was irrecoverable.
But sound engineers were able to reconstruct it.
"We sized her up several times thinking we couldn't really save her,
" he said.
Our wonderful team of engineers did the rest.
It's as if we had put the pieces back together.
It's beautiful, it's touching."
Since the death of their leader in 1991 from AIDS, the members of the group Queen have continued to multiply projects and perform on stage, with young singer Adam Lambert currently taking over from Freddie Mercury.
The show must go on.
