Here is a possible timing of the work of the Parliament until the formation of the new government.
- OCTOBER 14: The President of the Chamber is elected.
Request by the presidents of the chambers to the deputies and senators to choose the parliamentary group to which they belong within 48 hours.
- 16 OCTOBER: deadline for the choice of parliamentary group by deputies and senators.
- OCTOBER 17: Convocation by the presidents of the chambers of parliamentary groups for their constitution, with relative election of their respective presidents.
- 18 OCTOBER: The presidents of the chambers and their respective group leaders have been elected by all the subjects with whom the president of the republic speaks for consultations for the formation of the new government.
From this moment it is possible to start consultations.
The Senate holds its first group leader.
- 19 OCTOBER: 3 pm, the Senate Chamber elects the Vice-Presidents, the Senators Quaestors and the Chamber Secretaries.
The House should hold its first group leader.
- 20 and 21 OCTOBER: European Council in Brussels.
The Italian Republic is expected to be represented there by the outgoing Prime Minister Mario Draghi.
- OCTOBER 20: Possible appointment by the President of the Republic to form a new government.
