The police searched the home of Ballermann singer Melanie Müller.
A spokeswoman for the Leipzig public prosecutor's office said the search was related to investigations into suspected use of license plates from unconstitutional organizations.
Such characteristics can be flags, badges, pieces of uniform, slogans and forms of greeting.
The "Bild" newspaper first reported on the search.
The background is a video that shows how the right arm of the 34-year-old shoots up a few times during a performance in Leipzig in mid-September.
During the search, evidence is to be secured and then evaluated, the spokeswoman said.
A video first appeared in September showing that several fans shouted "Sieg Heil" during Müller's performance.
The singer briefly listened to the roar and responded by exclaiming "Zigzag, zigzag, zigzag".
The visitors answered "Heal, heal, heal".
The clip with the singer's questionable gesture later appeared.
Müller had rejected the allegations and any proximity to "right-wing extremists or nationalist ideas".
She also told the "Bild": "I've been on stage for eleven years and always do these hand movements.
Not from a right-wing extremist background, but ›Zicke zacke zicke zacke‹, exactly the way I do it there.«
Melanie Müller became known as a participant in various reality TV formats.
In 2014 she became the jungle queen in "I'm a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here".
She also appears as a singer at Ballermann in Mallorca.
