(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 13 - "In a simple way, and we hope grandly, we will tackle the problems that humanity must face, linked to climate change and the search for new sources of energy, but also the role of science and technology in society modern ".

From 14 October on Rai3 every Friday at 3.00 pm Rai Cultura presents "Prepare for the future", a sixteen-episode series conceived and written by Piero Angela and dedicated to new generations, that is, to young people who today attend Italian schools and who will one day be responsible for the company of the future.

A cycle that Angela particularly cared about and that he also thought of for schools.

Rai presented this cycle with the CEO Carlo Fuortes and Silvia Calandrelli, director of Rai Culture and Educational.

"It is a unique case in the world - said Fuortes -. Rai must always be grateful to him. Leave this program, Prepare for the future, which is his testament. He was thinking about the future at the age of 93, he is an example for all of us. It is an extraordinary legacy he makes to our television and a unique example of devotion to public service. "

Opening Piero Angela, who died on August 13, announces: "We will talk about the fundamental role of science and technology in modern society. It will be my chat with you, in which I will try to tell some things I have learned all these years. This is the study with the historic furnishings of Superquark. And there will be a cartoon by Bruno Bozzetto which will take up the themes dealt with ".

The main objective of the project, in fact, is to include in the school curricula of the last three years of high school some ideas to reflect on the importance of scientific culture in a modern society and especially in the Italian one and on the challenges posed by globalization and climate change.

"Piero Angela worked with passion and rigor, until the last day", Silvia Calandrelli underlined.

"We donated these sixteen episodes to the President of the Republic. They are dedicated to the new generations and the time after lunch was also designed for them and decided by Piero".
