Every family whose children serve in the army wishes that they would return home for the holiday, but only in the special section of the Paran Brigade instead of the soldier spending the holiday at home - his family can spend the holiday in the field.

As every year during the holidays, Route 10 in the Western Negev, one of the most beautiful travel routes in the south, will be opened to travelers.

The best "tour guides" in this vintage, and those who know it like the back of their hand, are the warriors serving in the sector.

At this year's Sukkot, Private Toval Tsanani, a fighter in the Armored Corps, gave a tour of his family who came to visit him in the summer.

Route 10 is one of the longest and most beautiful roads in Israel, extending for 182 km and running parallel to the Israel-Egypt border. It begins near the settlement of Kerem Shalom in the Gaza Strip and ends at the Shakma Junction, near Eilat, where it connects to Route 12.

The road is in a military area that is closed throughout the year , but in recent years the IDF has opened a large part of the road during the holidays for the benefit of the citizens.

The openings are made in accordance with the security situation and are announced to the general public.

During the opening, soldiers guard the axis to allow citizens to travel safely.

Among the soldiers sent to guard the travelers on the holiday is Private Toval Tsanani, a resident of Kiryat Gat, who serves as a gunner in the Armored Corps.

Toval's family came to travel through the vintage and experience his daily service.

"We decided to go on a vintage trip in honor of Sukkot, we are a family that loves the desert landscape very much," said Michal Tovel's mother to Lavala!

"I was very excited when I realized that Toval would take care of us while we travel in the vintage, it's a huge pride. It gives us as parents a perspective on life. You suddenly realize that your child is big and takes care of everyone, you're not the one who wraps him anymore, but he's the one who protects you and all the travelers in the area ".

"In the end, taking care of my family is the real pride," says Private Tsanani.

"I am proud to be a fighter and feel that the work we do is very significant, the responsibility to protect the citizens who arrive at the axis is ours."

"Amazing views that you don't see everywhere"

"There are amazing landscapes in the harvest that you don't see everywhere, unique animals and a crazy desert landscape that reminds of abroad.

I was really ready to move here," says Toval's father Zuriel, who works as a public transport driver.

Route 10 has many observation points and a number of short hiking routes. The route depends on the choice of the traveler, which can be spread over three to four hours of travel, depending on the number of stops. It is important to arrive With food and drink and enough gas in the car, since it is not possible to buy anything during the season. During the journey on the road, during the periods when it is open, soldiers are stationed in tents, securing the road and helping travelers with questions and recommendations.
