A month has passed since the evening of 15 September when the floods of Misa and Nevola, swollen by the concentration of rain upstream, caused devastation, 12 deaths and many displaced people in the areas of Senigalliese (Ancona) and the Pesarese hinterland.

Since then, Brunella Chiù, 56 years old, from Barbara (Ancona), is still missing, swallowed by the waters of the Nevola while, under her house, in the Coste di Barbara area, she tried to save herself together with her son Simone Bartolucci, 23, (survivor) and to his daughter Noemi Bartolucci, 17, who died instead.

Since that evening the rescuers have been engaged in research activities that stop only at night: for the 30th consecutive day the Fire Brigade, Civil Protection, Carabinieri, Finance Police continue to search 'on the ground' and in rivers.

Even today the rescuers, around 45 people in all, are continuing the activity with mixed 'ground' teams and with the divers of the firefighters to sound the course of the rivers.

For a few days the dog lovers of the Guardia di Finanza have been engaged with molecular dogs trained in the search for deceased people (over time groups of dog lovers and dogs of different Corps have alternated including associations of volunteers and carabinieri but also special molecular dogs from Switzerland and San Marine).

In action, coordinated by the local command unit of the firefighters in Pianello di Ostra (one of the centers that suffered the most damage and most victims) also Civil Protection, Forestry Police: the Fire Brigade sift, on the ground, together with the civil protection the areas of Barbara but also that of Bettolelle in Senigallia,

as well as in Casine di Ostra at the confluence of Misa and Nevola.

Fire brigade divers are also involved in patrolling various areas of the two rivers and pebbles.

Rescuers are replying to areas already controlled in the hope that, by changing the weather conditions (today the sun is shining), the state of the places can change and the body of Brunella Chiù can be recovered.

At the moment no deadline has been set for the searches, the prefecture's will is to continue the activities to find the 56-year-old, whose BMW 1 series car had already been recovered in the Ponte del Burello area (Corinaldo).
