Bologna Grand Tour 2022, at the start of the Frankfurt Fair

After the success of the first edition in 2021, the Bologna Grand Tour is back through the main trade fairs in the world and in 2022 kicks off with the Frankfurt Fair, from 19 to 23 October. (HANDLE)


 After the success of the first edition in 2021, the Bologna Grand Tour is back through the main trade fairs in the world and in 2022 kicks off with the Frankfurt Fair, from 19 to 23 October.

The next stops will be Sharjah International Book Fair, from 2 to 13 November, Salon du Livre de Montreal, from 23 to 27 November and Feria Internacional del Libro de Guadalajara, from 26 November to 4 December.


    Made thanks to the support and collaboration of ICE - Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalization of Italian companies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to strengthen the global reach of the fair and promote new opportunities in the publishing sector at international, the Grand Tour 2022 will be the occasion for the start of the celebrations for the 60th edition of the Bologna Children's Book Fair.

The Children's Book Fair which together with its brand extension - dedicated to general publishing and created in collaboration with AIE Associazione Italiana Editori - BolognaBookPlus (BBPlus) and Bologna Licensing Trade Fair / Kids, is expected at BolognaFiere from 6 to 9 March 2023 .


    In Frankfurt (Hall 4.1, stand H26), BCBF will present the innovations in the pipeline for 2023, starting with the evolution of the Literary Agents Center into a new Bologna Rights Center, also open to generalist publishing agents and professionals of the rights of publishing houses exhibiting at the fair, created with BolognaBookPlus.

The stand also features two exhibitions, with guided tours by Grazia Gotti, and Anna Castagnoli: 'Out of Silence.

Yesterday, today, tomorrow, narrating through wordless books, curated by Accademia Drosselmeier and dedicated to Italian silent books, with 39 books of historical artists, but also of authors and illustrators of the latest generation.

    Together with Bologna Licensing Trade Fair / Kids, two excellent cases of entirely Made in Italy licensing in the children's books sector will be presented in Frankfurt: an educational game born from an illustration by Giulia Orecchia - awarded at the Toys Awards as Best Made in Game Italy of 2022 - and the passage from the book to the screen of Nel Mare there are the crocodiles by Fabio Geda directed by Rosalba Vitellaro, the screenplay by Alessandra Viola and the drawings by Annalisa Corsi, awarded as best short film at the Giffoni Film Festival.


    There will be a moment to discover all the news of BolognaBookPlus 2023 and to celebrate together the many innovations in preparation for the 60th anniversary of Bcbf and announce the first BolognaBookPlus Market of Honor, there will be a networking party of the Bologna Grand Tour, the October 19th at 5.30 pm at the Italia stand (Hall 4.1, stand F31) of the Buchmesse.
