From mid-October, we see them much less in the mountains pointing the tip of their snout.
Some have already returned to the bottom of their burrow to fall into a deep and protective sleep that will last until next April.
For marmots that have not yet gone into hibernation, any outing now requires staying on the lookout for attacks from golden eagles and… lead volleys.
