A 12-year-old girl has been the victim of a horrible crime in Paris.

Because his daughter did not come home from school on Friday afternoon, a Parisian father reported the girl missing.

The body of the child was found in the evening – in a suitcase parked on the street.

The body was found with wounds on the neck around 11 p.m. on Friday evening.

This was reported by the French news channel BFMTV on Saturday.

The independent press agency CL Press had previously reported on the case.

There is conflicting information about where the suitcase was found - according to BFMTV it was parked on the street a few streets away from where the girl lived in the 19th arrondissement.

The local Paris newspaper "Le Parisien", on the other hand, reports that the suitcase was in front of the building where the child lived.

According to information from BFMTV, the Paris public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into the murder of a minor under the age of 15.

An autopsy should clarify the exact cause of death.

Video recordings are said to show a woman who balances the suitcase with the corpse in her car

After the child's father and mother reported the 12-year-old missing, officials accelerated the investigation on Friday afternoon.

The reason: They had apparently discovered traces of a kidnapping in the basement of the building where the girl lived.

A carpet knife and adhesive tape were found, which could have been used to tie up the girl.

As "Le Parisien" reports, video recordings should show that the child entered the house - but did not arrive at the parent's apartment.

In the meantime, the police should also have indications of a suspected perpetrator: BFMTV further reports that the images recorded by video surveillance cameras should show an approximately 20-year-old woman moving in front of the apartment building and laboriously heaving a suitcase into her car.

According to the media report, the woman is on the run.

Four people are believed to be in police custody.

What role they play in the crime is still unclear.

For example, the person who discovered the suitcase and called the police should also be among them – but they probably have nothing to do with the crime, it said.
