You've probably heard of Pumpkin Spice, haven't you?

You can find a recipe for it at the bottom of the article.

That's how it's done:

You only need a few ingredients:

  • 400 g pumpkin, diced

  • 100 grams of brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp orange juice

  • 0.5 tsp salt

  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 0.5 tsp cardamom

  • 0.5 tsp allspice

  • 2 teaspoons orange zest

  • 50g peanut butter

  • 250 g dark couverture

  • salt flakes

The preparation is simple:

  • Bring water to a boil in a saucepan.

Cook the pumpkin in it until soft, drain and puree.

  • Carefully heat the pumpkin puree in a pan with the sugar, orange juice, salt, vanilla sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, allspice, orange zest and peanut butter.

Heat until most of the liquid has evaporated and a viscous mass has formed.

Let cool and fill into a piping bag.

  • Melt the couverture over a water bath.

Fill the praline molds one third full with melted chocolate.

Make sure that the edges are also covered with chocolate.

  • Using a piping bag, place some pumpkin and peanut cream in the middle of the pralines.

Finish with melted chocolate and refrigerate for another hour.

Fun fact number 6: Pumpkin Spice is THE pumpkin spice

Ever since the “pumpkin spice latte” trend swept over to us from the USA a few years ago, everyone has known the spice (or at least the term).

It is a spice mix that consists mainly of cinnamon and is just perfect for sweet pumpkin dishes.

It is also the spice that gives the American pumpkin pie 🥧 its typical taste.

    So what's in it?

First of all: there is no ONE spice mixture, the proportions and ingredients vary, depending on taste.

    We like this variant:

    • Pumpkin Spice

    • 3 tbsp cinnamon

    • 2 tsp ginger

    • 1 tsp nutmeg

    • 0.5 tsp allspice

    • 0.5 tsp cloves

Whether in cakes, desserts, hot drinks or as a DIY gift: Pumpkin Spice cuts a fine figure everywhere!
