(ANSA) - TOKYO, OCTOBER 17 - The Tokyo Stock Exchange starts the first session of the week with a minus sign, after the correction of the US stock indices, last Friday, while the risks of a global recession resurface.
At the opening, the Nikkei lost 1.18% to 26.770.49, with a loss of 320 points.
On the foreign exchange market, the revaluation phase of the dollar continues, at a value of 148.50 against the yen, despite the latest warnings from the Tokyo Ministry of Finance about an imminent intervention on the market to support the currency.
The euro is also appreciated, trading at 144.70 against the Japanese currency.
