Following an outbreak of the Ebola virus in Uganda, the Ministry of Health in Israel instructs hospitals to prepare for a suspected case in Israel.
Currently, there are no known cases outside of Uganda in the current outbreak, but the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Health conduct regular situation assessments on the issue.

The Ebola disease is manifested by fever, headache, fatigue, muscle pain, profuse vomiting, abdominal pain and its most recognizable and prominent characteristic - unexplained bleeding.
The disease is transmitted mainly through body fluids and contact with a patient or her body, as well as contact with objects contaminated with secretions.
The incubation period is 2-21 days and the mortality rate is high and reaches 30%.
According to the instructions of the Ministry of Health, any person who has been in Uganda in the last 21 days and suffers from a fever above 38 degrees, will be defined as a suspect of Ebola.
According to the guidelines, he should not be treated in the community clinics and he should be taken to the emergency room using MDA only. His treatment will be done by specialists in infectious diseases and in consultation with a district doctor of the Ministry of Health. Also, there are laboratory tests to rule out Ebola that are only performed at the biological institute.
The Ministry of Health instructs all nursing and administrative medical staff members in emergency medicine departments to be briefed on the clinical signs and the rules of behavior in the presence of a patient.
About 20 people will be designated from the emergency team and only they will be on call in case of suspected Ebola treatment.
Dr. Siegel Libernet Taub, Head of the Department of General Medicine at the Ministry of Health, and Prof. Amelia Anis, Director of the Department of Epidemiology, stated that the Rambam Hospital was designated as a designated hospital for the hospitalization of a patient or suspect of Ebola in a designated complex that will be opened soon.
