(ANSA) - ISTANBUL, OCTOBER 19 - Elnaz Rekabi, the Iranian athlete who competed without a headscarf at the Asian Championships in South Coreadel, was welcomed on arrival at Teheranda airport by a crowd that celebrated her.
"Elnaz is a heroine", shouted her supporters gathered at the ImanKhomeini airport in the Iranian capital, as seen in a video broadcast by the Irna agency.
After the race in South Korea, traces of the 33-year-old sportswoman had been lost but yesterday the athlete had spread a message claiming that the hijab had fallen before the race.
