Hate speech, anti-Semitism: The allegations against the US rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, weigh heavily.
In the meantime, more and more cooperation partners are distancing themselves from the singer.
As the parent company Kering has now announced, according to information from the US fashion magazine "Women's Wear Daily" (WWD), the French fashion house no longer wants to work with the rapper.
"Balenciaga no longer has any relationship with this artist, nor are there any plans for future projects," Kering said in response to a query from WWD.
The company did not give a more detailed explanation.
Kanye West and his ex-wife Kim Kardashian were something of a fashion label's muses.
The singer had previously worked closely with Balenciaga to promote PR.
In July, the rapper advertised a new collection.
At the time, the West announced via Instagram that it had spent more than $4 million on Balenciaga fashion in the past twelve months.
In early October, he opened a fashion show for the label at Paris Fashion Week wearing a dark jacket that looked like combat gear and said "Security."
His picture has since been removed from Balenciaga's website.
In recent months, Kanye West has repeatedly caused discussions with controversial public comments on social networks.
He was blocked from both Instagram and Twitter for controversial, sometimes anti-Semitic postings.
At a fashion show in Paris, he wore a shirt with the implicitly racist statement "White Lives Matter".
In his Instagram account he added again: The "Black Lives Matter" movement was a scam.
Several cooperation partners have now distanced themselves from the singer.
At the beginning of October, the sporting goods manufacturer Adidas announced that it was “putting the partnership to the test”.
A decision is still pending.
A little later, the US bank JP Morgan ended all business relationships with Yeezy Inc., Kanye West's fashion company.
According to media reports, no official reason was given; according to the bank, the decision was made in September.
