Stiftung Warentest has tested potato chips.
Five varieties fail as “poor”.
Test winner is "Krosse Kerle Tomato & Paprika".
Stiftung Warentest
repeatedly tests
various products, such as olive oil, or drinks such as mineral water, apple juice or coffee.
In the latest test, 25 types of potato chips were analyzed for different criteria.
Crucial for the evaluation were fat quality, sensory judgment and pollutants on the one hand, and microbiological quality, packaging and declaration on the other.
While eight tested products were rated "good", five types of potato chips failed with "poor".
These include the popular stackable chips from Pringles "Classic Paprika".
In most cases, pollutants are the reason for the poor rating of potato chips.

Potato chips test 2022 by Stiftung Warentest: "rancid" and contaminated with pollutants
Of the 25 types of potato chips tested, the
Stiftung Warentest failed
five products and rated them "poor".
In all of them, pollutants were given as one of the reasons for the poor rating.
According to the
Stiftung Warentest
, the popular and well-known "Pringles Classic Paprika" is very highly contaminated with mineral oil hydrocarbons.
Two types of organic potato chips also failed with the rating "poor".
In the case of "Trafo Bio Organic Potato Chips & Paprika", not only was the high proportion of acrylamide decisive, the
Stiftung Warentest
also made the sensory verdict "tastes like rancid fat".
Rob's chips as they should be Paprika Flavor - Poor (5.3)
Denns Biomarkt Dennree Potato Chips Paprika, organic – poor (5.2)
Pringles Classic Peppers – Poor (5.2)
Kettle Chips Paprika & Roasted Onion – Poor (5.1)
Trafo Bio Organic Potato Chips & Paprika, organic – poor (5.0)
According to Stiftung Warentest
, the potato chips "Denns Biomarkt Dennree Kartoffel Chips Paprika" were
even so heavily contaminated with acrylamide that the European guideline value was significantly exceeded.
According to the test results, the same applies to “Rob's chips as they should be, paprika flavor”.
According to the test, an undesirable health effect due to the high value of glycoalkaloids, even when consumed in small quantities, can no longer be ruled out with “Kettle Chips Paprika & Roasted Onion”.
With these foods, you can easily feast on a bad mood

Stiftung Warentest
showed once again.
If your health is also important to you when snacking, then you can easily make your own chips – for example from cabbage or zucchini chips.
