Eleven pre-trial detention orders were carried out by the carabinieri of the provincial command of Naples as part of the investigations on an alleged usury ring that would have been managed by the Camorra.
Among the recipients of the measures also a soldier of the Arma,
against whom the crime of corruption is hypothesized
.
During the investigation nine cases of usury were documented, committed against entrepreneurs (including a former Napoli player), forced according to investigators to pay
interest rates ranging between 25% and 40%.
The order, issued by the investigating judge at the Court of Naples, at the request of the local District Anti-Mafia Directorate, sees the arrested accused - for various reasons - of usury, possession and sale of drugs, as well as illegal possession of common firearms, aggravated with the aim of favoring the Baratto-Volpe clan, operating in the Neapolitan district of Fuorigrotta and falling within the sphere of influence and control of the so-called Secondigliano Alliance.
