Creative spirits can really let off steam on Halloween.

Whether decoration, food, drinks or the last-minute costume: we will explain how you can prepare perfectly for the evening.

Munich - Soon it will be that time again: On October 31st, ghosts, witches and magicians will be on the streets again.

Children go from house to house, ringing the doorbell.

If there is nothing sweet at the threshold, the children hand out their sour treats.

The Halloween festival is also fun for adults, because everyone, big and small, can dress up.

It doesn't matter whether you want to throw a party or need some costume inspiration, with a few tricks you can prepare yourself well for the evening.

Halloween Tips: Simple decorating ideas for your home

What must not be missing on Halloween is of course a pumpkin.

The easiest way to turn a pumpkin for decoration is to carve a spooky grimace.

To do this, the pumpkin must first be cut open at the top so that it can be hollowed out.

Then the lid can be put back on.

It is best to draw a face on the pumpkin with the pen.

If you are unsure what the pumpkin should look like, you can look at templates on the Internet.

Then use a knife to carve along the lines until the desired motif is complete.

If you don't dare to use a knife, you can also paint a pumpkin.

The pumpkin should be cleaned before painting so that no dirt gets mixed with the paint.

Well dried you can start with the work of art.

Acrylic paint is best.

As with carving, you can use a stencil to trace the outline of the pumpkin's face onto the pumpkin.

A sealer can be applied to protect the paint on top.

If you are planning a party, "hanging bats" can provide an eye-catcher.

To do this, print out an outline of a bat from the Internet and draw it on black cardboard.

The cardboard bats then only have to be cut out and attached to the ceiling using string and a drawing pin.

You can also turn transparent tea light holders into mummies using bandages.

To do this, wrap the containers in it and stick on two googly eyes.

The right snacks for Halloween - mummy sausages, chopped off fingers and more.

Since decoration is not everything at a party, Halloween snacks are easy to prepare.

One idea would be “mummy sausages”, which can be prepared quickly with puff pastry.

The classic are of course the “chopped off” fingers.

These can be prepared with sausages or vegan substitute products.

The sausages are divided and smeared with ketchup.

An indentation can be cut at one end of the sausage, into which a flaked almond is placed as a "fingernail".

The sausages can also be served as a hot dog.

If you like it healthier, you can replace the sausage with a carrot.

Cake pops are particularly good as a sweet scary snack.

Because with the right ingredients and food coloring, pumpkins, ghosts, bats, mummies and much more can be formed.

You can find numerous recipes on recipe blogs.

You can make ghosts out of marshmallows even more easily by adding food coloring to the candy's face.

When it comes to drinks, of course, anything red is suitable.

Whether tomato juice or the alcoholic version "Bloody Mary" - the more scary drinks, the better.

A visual highlight is also offered by brightly colored drinks such as a woodruff punch, in which you can also put rubber eyes.

Shots in plastic syringes are also a Halloween must-have.

Easy Halloween costumes from the closet

Numerous costumes can be found online or in party shops.

But surely one or the other already has the perfect costume in the closet.

As always, you can take an old white bed sheet, cut two holes in it and the costume is complete.

If that seems too boring for you, you can dress up as a character from a (horror) film or series.

Characters from "American Horror Story", "The Walking Dead" or "The Conjuring" can be portrayed with normal everyday clothing.

The “Joker” is also always a popular costume.

And anyone who has always dreamed of being a Hogwarts student can make their wish come true on Halloween.

A black outfit and painted teeth with kohl makes you a skeleton.

A black and trousers and a striped top with a pantyhose over the head to a thief.

And if you still have carnival make-up at home, you can dress dark and make up scary - maybe it will turn into a zombie.
