(ANSA) - TEHRAN, OCTOBER 26 - The Iranian Foreign Ministry has announced the names of individuals and institutions of the European Union designated to be sanctioned in response to the measures taken by Brussels against Tehran for the supply of Iranian drones to Russia, used in Ukraine, and after the repression of protests for Mahsa Amini, the 22-year-old Kurdish woman who died after being arrested by the moral police for not wearing the veil correctly.
"Iran is imposing sanctions in response to the support of the European Union (EU) for anti-Iranian terrorist groups and their provocations on violence and terrorism that have led to riots in Iran," reads the foreign minister's statement, as reported by Irna.
"Tehran also rejects and strongly condemns the illegal EU sanctions of 17 October against Iranian people and institutions, as clear interference in Iran's internal affairs", the statement added.
