The CGT takes to the streets again this Thursday.
In the continuity of the interprofessional mobilization for wages on October 18, the union is calling for a new day of strikes and demonstrations.
It promises to be less followed than that of last Tuesday, initiated by the CGT, FO, Solidaires and the FSU, as confided to
Figaro
Céline Verzeletti, confederal secretary of the CGT.
“
As we are on vacation, we knew that it would be more difficult to mobilize
”, she explains, seeing October 27 rather as “
A springboard day for the future
”.
Rallies and demonstrations are still planned in the four corners of France, but "
much less than usual
", concedes Céline Verzeletti.
The confederal secretary is counting on 80, or about half as many as on October 18 – which brought together 107,000 demonstrators in France according to the Ministry of the Interior, and 300,000 according to the CGT.
Some will be organized "
in front of the prefectures, or in front of certain companies where there are mobilizations on wage issues
", specifies Céline Verzeletti.
Mobilizations in Paris, Lyon or Lille
In Paris, a demonstration will leave from Montparnasse station at 2 p.m.
Demonstrations or gatherings are also planned in Lyon, Bordeaux, Rennes, Montpellier or Lille.
The slogans remain the same as those of the October 18 day of action.
"
At the company level, we ask each union to set up mobilizations on the job sites, to demand the immediate opening of wage negotiations
", explains Céline Verzeletti.
And at the national level, the CGT still requires an increase in the minimum wage, the indexation of wages to inflation and the increase in the value of the index point of civil servants.

If all professional sectors are called upon to mobilize by the CGT, the central Montreuil provides that it will be more important in the sectors most at the forefront of the fight for wages.
Céline Verzeletti cites EDF, GRDF, refineries and the food industry.
Transport disruptions are expected to be minimal, if any.
This sector "
focuses more on the mobilization of November 10
", specifies the representative of the CGT.
Objective
“Zero metro, zero RER”
that day, indeed announced the inter-union of RATP drivers on Monday.
Despite everything, the CGT federation of railway workers invited the employees “
to take part in the demonstrations which will be organized
” this Thursday.
For its part, the SNCF provides for "
normal traffic
", while the RATP has not communicated its traffic forecasts.
