(ANSA) - MILAN, OCTOBER 30 - Two paratroopers who jumped off during the celebrations for the 80th anniversary of the battle of El Alamein underway in Abbiategrasso (Milan) ended up outside the intended field of arrival and landed in the middle of the houses.
Both conscious, when the ambulances arrived they were transported in red code to the hospital.
There were ten paratroopers who jumped into two groups but two of them, instead of landing on the intended field, ended up in the middle of the houses for reasons yet to be ascertained.
The celebration was organized by the Municipality of Abbiategrasso, the Bersaglieri association, those of the Carristi and the Paratroopers on the field of the oratory of San Pietro to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the battle of El Alamein, provoking few protests by some associations, starting from the Anpi .
The program of the day included a parade of historic motorcycles, a martial arts exhibition and a parachute launch in the morning, while in the afternoon there was a concert of the Bersaglieri fanfare and a conference on the theme "Passion and glory in El Alamein" (ANSA ).
