Two people died when an aerobatic plane crashed in Baden-Württemberg.
Witnesses observed a spinning small plane near Altheim in the Alb-Donau district on Saturday, as the police in Ulm announced on Sunday.
The plane crashed into a wooded area and burst into flames.
The fire brigade extinguished the burning wreckage.
Two men, aged 20 and 57, died in the crash.
The federal supervisory authority for air accidents and the criminal police took up the investigation.
The machine was designed for aerobatics.
It was raised at Donzdorf airfield, around 50 kilometers north of the crash site.
Collision of two aerobatic pilots
It was the second fatal aerobatic crash in a few weeks.
At the end of September, two planes collided and crashed near Gera, killing two people.
According to a spokesman for the fire brigade, the victims were two aerobatic pilots.
The planes crashed after the collision over an open area, the fire department said.
There were no other deaths or injuries.
According to their own statements, the police and fire brigade were in action with a large contingent.

Crash at air show
In the summer of 2019, a pilot from Germany had a fatal accident at an air show in the central Polish city of Plock (Masovia region).
The media and rescue workers reported that he turned his plane around before it suddenly crashed into the Vistula.
At the time, the television channel TVN24 showed how the Russian Yakovlev Yak-52 sports plane tumbled in the air and then fell vertically from a great height towards the ground.
The victim was an experienced pilot and former Lufthansa employee, said a spokesman for the organizers of the PAP news agency.
The man's body was recovered from the wreck.
The pilot was alone on the plane, a fire department spokesman confirmed at the time.
The event was canceled after the accident.
