(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 30 - The decision for King Charles III not to take part in COP27, the international climate summit scheduled for Egypt in November, had been made "in agreement" with Downing Street, it was said.
The sovereign, however, does not seem to want to completely renounce his environmentalist beliefs and will in fact host an event at Buckingham Palace in view of the conference to be held in Sharmel-Sheikh.
Confirmation comes from the Royal Palace itself, Sky News reports.
In particular, Buckingham Palace makes it known that the event of the climate summit that the sovereign will hold at the Palace "will bring together about 200 international business leaders, decision makers, NGOs", to mark the conclusion of the British presidency of COP26.
