Losing a daughter prematurely and trying every day to go further.

A tragedy, the most inexplicable, unnatural, unacceptable, from which the Bianca D'Aponte Prize comes to life, organized in Aversa by Gaetano and Giovanna, the parents of the young singer-songwriter who died in 2003.

In the year of maturity, at the 18th edition, the competition reserved for songwriters hosts Niccolò Fabi on stage for the first time.

"I know that fire that gave rise to the Award.

For me it is wonderful and very natural to finally be there", says the Roman singer-songwriter to ANSA.

No one like him, who suddenly lost his daughter Olivia when she was not even two years old, can feel empathy towards Bianca's parents.

"How is it possible that I have never been here until now? There is a family atmosphere, a very powerful energy that is transferred to everyone, musicians, journalists, spectators.

You can hear - says Niccolò Fabi - when people get on the stage for a different reason than the exhibition and artistic vanity, when there is a feeling that goes beyond music and that actually uses music as an opportunity for rebirth. The same songs here sound differently ".

The uniqueness of the Bianca D'Aponte Award also consists in the fact that it is the only competition reserved only for singer-songwriters.

"I listened to them. The level is high. Today there is on average a greater education in performance", observes Niccolò Fabi who dedicated one of his successes, 'Costruire', to the finalists, explaining on stage that, in his opinion, "the talent is not simply the ease with which someone is able to do something more than someone else but it is the ability to put one brick on top of the other, with commitment and diligence, to build something ", in fact.

Fabi, who celebrated the first 25 years of his career with an event concert at the Verona Arena, is about to release a new album on December 2 and go on tour with his band.

In addition to him, the guests of the Bianca D'Aponte 2022 Award are Simona Molinari, Raiz, Pacifico, Isotta (winner of the last edition), Giuseppe Barbera, Piero Fabrizi and Kaballà.

There are also Grazia Di Michele, as godmother and president of the jury, who will sing a piece by Bianca d'Aponte, and two award-winning artists: Paola Pitagora, career recognition of the City of Aversa, and the Cuban Sorah Rionda, Bianca Award d'Aponte International 2021, in collaboration with the Andrea Parodi Award of Cagliari.

In the meantime, the one for 2022 has also been assigned to Raquel Kurpershoek.

On the stage of the Cimarosa theater also a group of students from the classical and musical high school Cirillo di Aversa who pay homage to Bianca d'Aponte with a song by her.

The artistic direction of the Prize is by Ferruccio Spinetti,

while the management is entrusted to Daniela Esposito and Ottavio Nieddu.

A jury of journalists assigns the Critics' Prize named after Fausto Mesolella, historical artistic director of the Prize.

The heart of the event is always the contest.

Eleven songwriters selected this year are: Angelae from Padua, Candeo from Milan, Giorgia Canton from Verona, Fefe from Bolzano, Assia Fiorillo from Naples, Jole from Savona, Jungle J. Anne from Grosseto, Lamo from Milan, Lula from Rome, Moà from Terni, Alessandra Nicita from Lecce.
