(to be published Tuesday, November 1)
It's an Anne Frank hiding place, at the very end of a corridor, at the end of the National Museum in Warsaw, the Polish Louvre.
In the summer of 1944, no human beings in this hideout, but works of art and musical instruments of great value, stored in this hidden corner of the place to escape the looting of the Nazis.
This discreet little place is under a staircase, in room 19 of the enormous building, and now houses a drawing room.
At the time, it served as a staff chapel in the largest museum in this deeply Catholic country.
