Is it possible to reach a peace negotiation in the Ukrainian conflict?

"Maybe: only if at some point Ukraine realizes that it can no longer count on weapons and aid and if, instead, the West promises to provide it with hundreds of billions of dollars for the reconstruction of its war-torn cities. this Zelensky case, perhaps, could agree to sit down for a negotiation ".

This was said when interviewed by Vespa for his latest book by him, the leader of Fi, Silvio Berlusconi.

"In this situation - Berlusconi explains to Vespa in the book" The great storm "- we can only be with the West in defending the rights of a free and democratic country like Ukraine".

Regarding the stop to arms, preferring to send massive economic aid for reconstruction, Vespa objects that Putin should at least leave the two occupied and annexed regions (Kherson and Zaporizhzhia) after the other two in Donbass (Donetsk and Luhansk).

Berlusconi seems to agree, but he thinks that membership in the Russian Federation of Crimea should not be discussed and a new referendum in the Donbass with the control of the West should be held.

He is convinced that Putin is 'a man of peace', he confesses to Vespa that he tried to call him twice without success at the beginning of the war and afterwards he never insisted.

On the twenty bottles of vodka and Lambrusco, he remembers that after telling his deputies letters of good wishes, one of them asked him: "And did you also get some gifts?"

And he, smiling, amused, replied: "Yes, of course, twenty bottles of vodka and twenty of Lambrusco".

But everyone, he says, understood that he was joking "Finally, when asked Vespa if he feels closer to America or Russia, Berlusconi recalls that one of the five standing ovations reserved for him by the United States Congress on June 19, 2011 was when he told of the oath of allegiance to the USA asked of him by his father when after high school he took him to visit the American military cemetery of Anzio.
