The takeoff was aborted and the aircraft returned safely to the hangar.
A replacement flight has been offered by IndiGo to all passengers.
The Directorate General of Indian Civil Aircraft (DGCA) has opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of this accident.
In a press release, Arun Kumar, the director of the DGCA underlined “The DGCA will make a detailed study to check if there have already been such incidents concerning these engines before.
