Coldplay was joined on stage by French actress of Iranian origin Golshifteh Farahani.

“This song is in Farsi so I can't really sing it.

But we are going to sing it together and we will send it with love from Buenos Aires,” announced singer Chris Martin a few minutes before this performance.

“We would like to do something to show that we support all women and all those who fight for freedom in Iran, and everywhere in fact,” he also said during the concert.

Support posts

Iranian youth have been protesting for six weeks against the murder of Mahsa Amini, 22, who died on September 16, while in the custody of the vice police, after her arrest for an alleged violation of women's dress rules.

This event triggered a series of demonstrations supported by a large international movement.

This is not the first time that Coldplay, currently touring South America, has sent a message of support to the Iranian people.

Earlier this month, the pop group posted a message of solidarity on social media: "We would like to extend special love and respect to those of you who stand up for the right to be free, peaceful and the right to be oneself, in all those places where this right is not yet granted to everyone”.

Many celebrities have spoken on behalf of Mahsa Amini and her family, including Bella Hadid, Ramy Youssef and Angelina Jolie.

In France, well-known names in cinema such as Juliette Binoche, Marion Cotillard, Isabelle Adjani or Isabelle Huppert also cut a lock of hair to show their support for the demonstrators.
