(ANSA) - SAN PAOLO, 03 NOV - On the basis of the fifth article of the Constitution, Brazil denies the extradition of the former Milan striker Robinho, who was sentenced in Italy to nine years in prison for group sexual violence.
However, thanks to legal cooperation, Italy can request the transfer of the execution of the sentence to Brazil.
ANSA learns this from local sources.
The fifth article of the Constitution provides that no Brazilian citizen is extradited, except for exceptions that do not occur here.
The extradition request was submitted in early October.
