Children should be allowed to express themselves freely.

But they also need orientation, especially when they are young.

This is possible if parents let them help out in everyday life.

It is important to give children something to take with them from an early age, to explain the world to them and to let them participate in it.

In addition, those who lay the foundation stone early on ensure that children can draw from formative experiences and adventures throughout their lives.

As they learn important lessons, they can quickly build and learn from their skills in different areas.

Children can also do this on their own when they begin to reflect on themselves and others as well as on real situations they find themselves in.

But it's nicer when the parents support and encourage them and also challenge their offspring a little.

The following five lessons sound simple, but they are very effective - and can be a lot of fun.

If children help around the house from an early age, they also learn to take care of themselves one day.

Life Lessons for Children: 1. Help with the dishes

Many parents find it easier if they do everything around the house themselves.

It takes longer with children, they just get in the way or just do nonsense, which is often the assumption behind it.

Still, teaching children how to clean is important, especially when it comes to their own little kingdom.

Of course, parents should start giving them chores that are age-appropriate.

It's enough to let them chop some vegetables while cooking, let them decide what goes into the soup or shake a little dust.

It is even more practical if the little ones simply clean up the mess they have made themselves, for example when they are supposed to put away their scattered toys in the respective box at the end of the day.

Life Lessons for Children: 2. Do the laundry

You just want to separate and wash the dirty laundry in peace, but your child is constantly scurrying around you?

Then let it make you useful!

Playfully show him how to make the colorful piles, fill the washing machine and turn it on.

At the latest during the spin cycle, it will be sitting in front of the machine and looking fascinated into the drum.

When the little ones get older, they can even do the weekly laundry themselves or put the clean clothes in the dryer afterwards.

In addition, it is also advisable to show them later how to fold socks together or how to fold individual items of clothing correctly.

Acquiring such a skill makes the children proud and gives them self-confidence because they can handle such essential things on their own.

Life Lessons for Children: 3. Get dressed and ready

There is nothing more stressful in the morning than trying to get little kids ready for kindergarten or school.

While one can no longer find his shoe, the other simply refuses to put his jacket on.

But there is a smarter way: If you approach the whole thing a little more playfully, you will ensure that an initially tiresome task quickly becomes fun for the little ones.

Let the offspring choose what clothes they want to wear today or, ideally, the night before to save time in the morning.

Get them their toothpaste or hairbrush ready.

Let the little ones decide what sound the alarm clock should make in the morning so that they finally get up more easily.

Life Lessons for Children: 4. Order at the restaurant

If the children are a bit older and can articulate themselves well, you should let them speak for themselves more often in public.

So instead of deciding for yourself in the restaurant what the child gets and telling the waiter, you should let the little ones have a say.

They should then order what they have chosen from the waiter.

This in turn strengthens their self-confidence, since this way they can already feel very grown up and independent.

In addition, it increases the guarantee that they will actually consume the food they have chosen and not spurn it.

Life Lessons for Children: 5. Prepare meals

As a mother or father, you always have your hands full, especially in the kitchen.

Many feel under pressure to consistently whip up fresh and healthy meals for their offspring.

In addition, some also prepare lunch boxes for the day-care center and the like.

But it's worth giving yourself a little more time and letting the little ones help out.

They, too, can quickly learn how to put sandwiches or use the microwave.

As a parent, you can guide them on what a well-balanced meal looks like, explain to them why fruits and vegetables, for example, are so important.

This teaches them early on how to make healthy eating choices and how to prepare simple meals when they need to be alone and get hungry.
