(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 09 - The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, accompanied by Mrs. Laura, arrived at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam where he will meet the King of the Netherlands Guglielmo and Queen Maxima.
With this meeting begins the state visit of the president to the Netherlands.
Tomorrow he will be in The Hague for an interview with Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
Afterwards he will move to Maastricht where he will give a speech dedicated to Europe.
The head of state, in the famous Dam Square, received military honors after listening to the national anthems.
After the meeting attended by the official delegations of the two countries, the royals will offer a reception in honor of the president.
