The prestigious magazine TIME
announced today (Thursday) the selection of the Israeli startup Exodigo in the list of the best inventions in the world in 2022 that change our lives.
The selection process for the list was made with the help of recommendations from editors and newspaper reporters around the world.
The choice between the inventions was made on the basis of several key criteria - including originality, creativity, efficiency, ambition, environmental impact and contribution to the world.
Exodigo has developed a technology based on sophisticated sensors and artificial intelligence to identify the composition of the soil - thereby saving the need for drilling and physical excavation that takes a long time and damages the soil surface.
The system was activated after the discovery of the sinkhole in the Ilon lanes, in order to map the area and assess risks, thereby saving the need for deep excavation.
The company personnel located several suspicious areas near the sinkhole and filled them with concrete.
The technology is currently used in energy, transportation and construction infrastructure projects in the USA, Europe and Israel to identify in a short time the presence of old infrastructure, the composition of the soil layers, rocks and groundwater, in order to enable the project to be carried out safely and to reduce expenses.

A series of funds invested in the company, including Zeev Ventures, 10D Fund, Square Peg, JIBE Ventures, as well as Israel Canada, Tidhar Construction and the engineering company Waxman Govrin Geva WXG Ltd.
Recently, the American energy giant National Grid joined them, after experimenting and testing the technology at its infrastructure sites in North America.
This year Exodigo started commercial activity with over 20 huge companies around the world.
Jeremy Seward, CEO of Exodigo:
"Our technology, which is likened to MRI, ultrasound and city scans at the same time, creates a new standard for underground mapping, and allows for the first time to get a reliable picture of everything under our feet, from underground infrastructures, soil layers and sinkholes - to the search for minerals and oil. We are proud to be included in the list of inventions The best of TIME that combines technological innovation together with contribution to the world. Exodigo's technology has a tremendous impact on shortening construction projects, reducing risks and unexpected delays, saving money and consequently reducing the environmental footprint."
