(more) An impressive achievement for Noa Kirel: the 21-year-old singer received the "Best Artist" award tonight at the EMA, the MTV music awards ceremony held in Dusseldorf, Germany.
In doing so, Kirel defeated other Israeli pop artists such as Nono, Anna Zeke, Shahar Saul and the well-known ex Margi.
This is the fifth win for Noa, and she was present at the ceremony as a representative of Israel.
In an act of protest, Kirel arrived at the ceremony dressed in the blue and white colors of the Israeli flag, accompanied by a Magni David.
"I chose to wear on the MTV red carpet a fashion item with a message for the whole world, an item that clearly symbolizes that I am both Jewish and Israeli," she said at the ceremony.
"We have been experiencing a lot of anti-Semitism lately, especially in light of Kanye West's statements. I am proud to be an Israeli artist who represents Israel in the world."
The others on the look are Yuval Elroi, a young designer, and Eti Bezaleli, Kirel's stylist.

The EMA awards ceremony is a long-standing tradition of the old music channel.
This year it will be broadcast from 22:00 (Israel time), preceded at 19:00 by a live broadcast from the red carpet, with the participation of prominent stars who competed in the evening.
The ceremony was hosted this year by the singer and creator Rita Ora and the screenwriter, director and actor Taika Vaititi.
As every year, this time too the ceremony contained a variety of performances by the best music stars of the period.
Among others, the bands Muse, One Republic (who performed last week in Israel) and Gorillaz performed in the evening, as well as names such as Eva Max, DJ David Guetta and others.

The most number of nominations this year belongs to the current king of pop Harry Styles, when the British singer was nominated for winning in no less than 7 different categories.
The current queen of pop (and few would dispute that given her recent achievements) Taylor Swift was behind him with 6 nominations.
The EMA ceremony is broadcast live on the MTV Israel channel and will be rebroadcast, edited and translated on Monday, November 14.
