Actor John Aniston, father of "Friends" star Jennifer Aniston, passed away today (Monday) at the age of 89. Aniston is remembered by many from the TV series "Days of Our Lives".
He is survived by daughter Jennifer and son Alex.
"Sweet daddy...John Anthony Aniston, you were one of the most beautiful people I've ever known," Jennifer wrote on her Instagram account, alongside a series of photos of the two of them.
"I am so grateful that you arrived in heaven peacefully and without pain, and on 11.11 of all days! You always had perfect timing. From now on this number will always mean more to me. Love you until the end of time. Don't forget to come visit."
The official Twitter account of "Yemi Ha Haino" also said goodbye to the actor, through a tribute video to his work.
"Our hearts are broken at the loss of our dear family member," read the message that accompanied the video.
"We love you John. You are a legend who will live forever."

Aniston and her famous daughter Jennifer, who broke into consciousness towards the mid-90s in "Friends", were considered quite close.
In an interview from 1990, before his daughter's break-in, he said in an interview with the E! channel that "there are certain things you can learn in this profession and there are things you cannot learn. The comedic abilities that Jennifer is gifted with are accurate and without flaws. This is her greatest asset."

Aniston, Greek-American, was born on July 24, 1933. He had a long and steady career over many years, but his most recognizable role was that of Victor Kyriakis, which he played since 1985 and for three decades on the popular soap opera Days of Our Lives.
Last June, Aniston won a Daytime Emmy for Lifetime Achievement for his many years of appearances on the show.
He himself was not present at the ceremony, but his daughter appeared at the event via video and received the award on behalf of her father.
