(ANSA) - BERLIN, NOV 14 - The German government has standardized the gas company Sefe, formerly Gazprom Germany and an ex-subsidiary of the Russian Gazprom.
The Ministry of Economy justified the measures with the risk of insolvency of the company, which could endanger the security of energy supply in Germany.
Sefe took on her new name in June.
Since April, the company has been under trusteeship by the German Network Agency, that is, since Gazprom left control of the then Gazprom Germany.
Now the German state will completely take over Sefe to "guarantee commercial operations and stabilize the company".
A first loan from the Kfw public bank will also be increased from 11.8 to 13.8 billion euros.
Funding for the operation will come from the new 200 billion euro stabilization fund for the German economy.
Seferesta is the second largest gas importer in Germany.
In first place is Uniper, which has also been in the process of completing its nationalization for weeks.
