Almost every child knows the delicious sweets.

But when a man finds an unusual check from the candy manufacturer, you want to fobb him off with a "thank you."

It has already happened to one or the other: You are walking or standing somewhere and suddenly your gaze falls on the ground.

There it is: a bank note.

Some even find purses.

The temptation is then great for many: should I put it in my pocket when nobody is looking?

Or is it better if I hand in the certificate or wallet at the nearest lost and found office?

Anouar G. was also faced with this question, but for him it was not about a 20-euro banknote, but about much more.

Nevertheless, he supposedly makes the right decision.

Man finds a check for 4.6 million euros – gummy bears are given as a finder's reward

He had previously visited his mother and was on his way home.

On the way back at the Bürostadt stop, he sees a piece of paper fluttering across the floor.

He picks it up and can hardly believe his eyes: It is a check for a whopping 4.6 million euros!

The finder "couldn't even pronounce" the exact sum, as he reported to the

To be more precise, it is said to have been a crossed check issued by the supermarket group Rewe to the wine gum manufacturer Haribo.

Did someone from the finance department take it home to work on it there?

A strange affair, but luckily Anouar G. is dutiful enough to report his find.

To do this, he contacts the inventor of the gold bear.

Man finds check for 4.6 million euros – and finds reward “cheap”

Eventually, an attorney for the company replies, asking him to destroy the check and send him a photo as evidence.

The Frankfurter finally does that too, in the belief that the Haribo manufacturer will save millions in losses.

Or rather in the hope of getting a generous finder's fee?

He also receives this a few days later as a package.

But instead of receiving a lot of money, Anouar G. only gets a package with six bags of Haribo products.

The disappointment was probably great, because the man explained to the

: "I found that a bit cheap." After all, finder's reward is regulated by law in this country.

The tabloid then asked Haribo, the manufacturer is said to have confirmed the process.

Accordingly, this is the normal procedure of the candy manufacturer, especially since the finder would not have been able to bring the check to the bank himself anyway.

"Because it was a personal check, no one but our company could have cashed it," it said.

And finally: "It was our standard package that we send as a thank you."
