If you don't want to do without a snack during a cozy evening on the sofa, you should grab something healthy every now and then - such as home-made chips made from kale and edamame.

When the temperatures drop and the sun goes down earlier and earlier outside, people like to make themselves comfortable on the sofa at home.

Snuggled up in a thick blanket, the remote control in one hand and a cup of hot cocoa in the other, many get in the mood for the cold season.

Watch your favorite series and eat a few delicious snacks - such as homemade coral chips or if you fancy something sweet, nibble Oreo chocolate chip cookies - and the TV evening is perfect.

Snacks make you happy - and can also be healthy

To be honest: what could be nicer in the cold season than spending the end of the day like this?

Especially when it gets cooler and darker outside faster, the appetite increases.

Because: Eating ensures heat balance in the body and makes you happy.

Anyone who grabs chocolate and chips from time to time can certainly enjoy without a guilty conscience.

The situation is different with regular, unhealthy snacks: the high sugar, fat and calorie content of these foods not only makes them unhealthy, but also harmful in the long run.

You can easily make a healthy snack yourself from frozen green soybeans, called edamame, and the superfood kale: kale edamame chips.

However, snacking does not have to be associated with a bad conscience, nor is it fundamentally unhealthy.

If you would like to grab something unrepentant, you can do so with healthy snacks without hesitation.

But what are the healthy alternatives, where can you safely access them?

Good Snacks:

low in sugar and calories

rich in nutrients and protein

help against autumn blues, tiredness and exhaustion

Prepare the superfood kale into a delicious snack - this is how it works:

Kale is the name of the superfood - seasonal in the autumn and winter months, and red hot from November.

Known and popular as “kale” in English-speaking countries, the winter vegetable is also enjoying growing popularity in Germany.

In northern Germany in particular, some dishes are based on kale, with almost half of the cultivation taking place in Lower Saxony.

The cabbage is regional, seasonal and healthy - a really versatile vegetable.

Especially in the winter months, kale can even help to boost your mood.

With 64 mg of tryptophan per 100 g of cabbage - a protein building block from which the body forms serotonin - cabbage is a good friend against the autumn blues.

There are numerous ways to process kale: smoothies, pasta dishes, salads, bowls - and healthy snacks.
