(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 17 - In September 2022, a cyclical growth is estimated for exports (+1.6%) and a decline for imports (-1.7%).
The increase on a monthly basis in exports is due to the increase in sales to non-EU markets (+6.0%), while exports to the EU area are decreasing (-2.2%).
The Istat communicates it.
On an annual basis, exports grow by 21.6% in monetary terms and by 2.1% in volume.
The growth of exports in value is more sustained towards non-EU markets (+27.2%) than towards the EU area (+17.1%).
Imports in value register a tendential increase of 40.4% - much more intense for the non-EU area (+59.0%) than in the EU area (+25.2%) - while in volume they remain substantially unchanged (- 0.5%).
In the first nine months of the year, the trade deficit exceeded 31 billion, conditioned by an energy deficit of over 85 billion;
a negative contribution also comes from intermediate goods, with a deficit of almost 19 billion.
For the month of September, the trade deficit is equal to -6,454 million euros, compared to a surplus of 1,440 million in the same month of 2021. The energy deficit reaches, in absolute terms, 12,435 million (it was -4,529 million a year earlier). but the surplus in the trade of non-energy products, equal to 5.982 million, is high and on the level of September 2021 (5.969 million).
