The Oscar-winning British actress attended the series premiere on Wednesday, November 16. In this Netflix prequel to The Addams Family, she plays the legendary character of the funereal and glamorous matriarch.


In a figure-hugging off-white dress with futuristic shoulder pads, Catherine Zeta-Jones shone at the

The 53-year-old actress accessorized her outfit with diamond studded earrings and a gold and diamond encrusted ring.

Her long dress did not show her shoes.

In the series of which Tim Burton is one of the directors, the actress embodies Morticia Addams, a role which had previously been held by Carolyn Jones in the original series of 1964 and by Anjelica Huston in the film

The Addams Family

(1991).

Christina Ricci, who starred as Wednesday in the aforementioned comedy as well as its 1993 sequel, will make an appearance in this new round of episodes.

The Addams Family

, which will be released on November 23 on Netflix, chronicles the high school years of Wednesday Addams, played by Jenna Ortega, a student at Nevermore Academy.
